Only 10 days to go! Yesterday I wrapped up my internship at the wonderful Alexandria Chamber of Commerce (picture of a few beloved co-workers to right). They generously surprised me with a Peace Corps shopping spree, so now I've got a new camera, new boots, and some lightweight insect-proof pants. Of course, after spending an hour in Hudson Trail Outfitters I came up with a list of even more things I "needed" to buy...Today I'll have lunch with a friend and take the train down to Williamsburg to visit some college friends and see my brother in Richmond. Then it will be a few short days of packing and seeing relatives before I launch my adventure!
I chose a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1: waterproof to 3 meters, dustproof, drop-proof to 1.5 meters. Finally, a camera that's more durable than I am.
